Disclaimer (AGREE TO HONOR DISCLAIMER BEFORE PROCEEDING)
In the US people under the age of 18 must consult with a parent or guardian before proceeding to read this. In other countries the appropriate age may vary, but follow your local laws and don't proceed if you are in doubt.
The purpose of this document is mainly to disseminate a lot of information that I've collected about LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide). In most countries this substance is illegal. Ingesting it, selling it, and buying it is usually considered a crime. This document doesn't advocate the use of LSD, but it does aim to dispel a lot of myths and misinformation that exists about it.
If your intention is to learn, then you have come to the right place. I can't guarantee that this page meets the academic standards that would be required for reference in most educational quality papers. As Internet connections become available to nearly everyone in the world, the web increasingly becomes a library of information.
Permission to quote this page is granted for academic purposes. I have done my best to specify which information is anecdotal and which information is scientific. There is a huge difference! Scientific methods require a verifiable hypothesis and rigorous testing processes. So while I'm not an academic, I've done my best to preserve clarity between opinion and fact. Also, if this page is used for academic purposes I would really like to get a copy of the paper in text, HTML, or MS-Word format.
This document is part FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) and part philosophical in nature. I set out to explore and verify the information that I've collected over the years, as well as present some personal opinions about this controversial substance. It is also original insofar as the author's opinions and research. When appropriate I provide references and links to external sites.
Who is this document targeted towards? My primary targets are people that are curious about the history, use, and effect of LSD. This includes students, laymen, law enforcement, researchers, religious seekers, and any person or organization that will benefit from this information.
Ecstacy (aka "MDMA", aka "X", aka "XTC") is a popular rave and party drug that is also hallucinogenic in effect. It stimulates feelings of unity, love, sexuality, and at higher doses can cause hallucinations. In experiments XTC has been proven to cause brain damage in the lab animals. This isn't a condemnation of the chemical as there are many things that can cause damage with sufficient abuse and lack of regulation.
XTC, like LSD, has been used extensively for therapeutic purposes. To find out more about the history, use, and effects about XTC please seek other resources as the intent of this FAQ isn't to explain X.
A known practice since at least the 1980's has been to mix LSD and X. Many people report highly pleasureable experiences, but some report that this has made them sick. Due to the current LSD and MDMA laws there is no good research to indicate what the effects are; however, please consider that "bad" XTC is commonly reported. There are XTC testing kits available via the Internet which *may* give you a better idea of the quality of the product. So if you plan on trying this, you probably should look into this unless you are sure that your XTC source is 100% reliable (e.g. you personally are a chemist or know the chemist)
There isn't a lot of information indicating what may happen to you physically if you try using X and LSD at the same time. One other thing to consider is that XTC is physically addictive while LSD is not physically addictive. However, most reports indicate heighened kinesthetic pleasure. YMMV.
